BAKED BEAN CASSEROLE (A meal in one)

 


  Brown about 1 # ground meat, drain, & set aside.

Fry 8 pieces of bacon crispy & save the grease in the pan
    (I used turkey bacon)

2 medium onions cut in 1/2 inch rings: Cook in bacon grease until tender
    (using turkey bacon, I had to substitute bacon grease with a little oil)

ADD:
1/2- to 3/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/3 cup white vinegar

STIR & cover. SIMMER 20 minutes

ADD:
1 can butter beans, NOT drained (in molasses type)
1 can French cut beans, drained
1-28 ounce can Bushes Baked beans

MIX everything together, except bacon.
PUT in casserole dish.
BAKE 1/2 hour at 350* covered
CRUMBLE bacon over top
And BAKE an additional 1/2 hour uncovered.
