VEGETABLE CASSEROLE




INGREDIENTS:


 
  1-1/3 cup green beans, cut in short sections
1-1/3 cup celery pieces
1 cup onion, sliced thin
1/2 green pepper, chopped
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp butter
15 drops bitters or 2 tsp. lemon juice
1-1/3 cup drained whole or chopped tomatoes
1-cup carrots sliced
2 tbsp tapioca
1 pound Italian sausage

 

  Mix vegetables, tapioca, and sugar.
Place in 2 qt. baking dish.
Form Italian sausage into small balls and fry.
Add to vegetables, dot with butter, and sprinkle on bitters.
Bake at 325 degrees for 1-1/2 hours. Serves six.
